Last night we were honored to serve up a small feast for our high school swim team.
On the menu:
   Garden Salad
   Homemade Rolls
   Chicken Parmesan
   Penne Pasta with Marinara
Whole wheat pasta with Garlic Butter Sauce

But the real story.... What a remarkable group of young student athletes our community supports.  The small swim team is a particular favorite and near and dear to the heart of Romeos.  Harry's other half proudly coaches these fine individuals daily.  During the dreary months of winter as their counterparts peel out of the high school parking lot, they are heading to lockers rooms to prepare for swimming. Every. Day.
They show up, they work hard, and they treat each other well.  The rewards aren't great and they are almost never get accolades outside of the pool deck.  They deserve accolades.  Many accolades; not so much for what they do in the pool, but for the people they are becoming.  What a great inspiration these youngsters are (especially to their coach!)
Thank you for a great season Rockets Swimming.

***Oh, I have to mention SOME pool accolades!
Rachel Kimmel set a long standing school record this year in the 100 Breast!
Three scored at Districts (Nick Garbinski, Noah Shank, and Rachel Kimmel). Just HUGE accomplishments.  And these are just Sophomores!  So look for great things next swim season.
Annaleise Hissong made districts as a freshman.
Gretta Kriner made districts for the first time as a JR in the 100 Fly.
Kayla Snyder broke the 1:00 mark in the 100 Free and continued her district streak !
The 400 Free Relay broke the 4:00 mark at Districts. Members included Amanda Montgomery, Annaleisse Hissong, Kayla Snyder, Rachel Kimmel
Jarred Moquin had an incredible freshman (and rookie of the year) season and contributed immensely to the boys relays!
Gwen Hunt got rookie of the year award for females for being awesome.
Samantha Mills was most improved
Alexa Jones improved so much I couldn't even recognize her by the end of the season.
The list goes on....
